Watching those you love face severe health difficulties is an enormous challenge. It is heartbreaking to see them suffer or lose some of their independence. Sometimes all it takes is some extra help to ease the burden and give you peace of mind that they receive the in-home senior home health care they deserve.

Elderly care is a plausible route for many, and services are broad in their variety. And thankfully, many of these services can be covered by Medicare. Here’s what is and isn’t included in-home health care services.

What services are included with in-home health care?

Examples of care services (that are medical in nature and may be covered by Medicare) include:

  • Monitoring services for illness and unstable health status
  • Care for wounds and post-surgery recovery
  • Education for caregivers and patients
  • Medication Management
  • Intravenous therapy
  • Nutrition therapy
  • Injections

Home care services need to be originated by instructions from your doctor, who can refer you to senior care services. Your doctor and your care service provider should work closely together, ensuring all recommended visits and medical procedures are followed closely.
